Most celebrities in the world today have applied the services of a life coach in one way or the other. Some of these esteemed individuals include Oprah Winfrey, Julia Roberts, Leonardo DiCaprio, Andre Agassi, and even Bill Gates have all worked with a coach even though they are considered some of the most successful individuals in our society.

According to the research conducted by the International Coaching Federation on the effectiveness of life coaching, it showed that 99% of the people they interviewed claimed to have had a positive experience with these professionals, while 96% stated they would do it again.

Moreover, 65% said working with their coach helped them improve their performance at work, and 80% said it boosted their self-confidence. As we have seen from the research conducted over the years, the benefits of working with a coach can not be overestimated, although there are several reasons why anyone would want to hire a professional irrespective of social status.

Here are some of the reasons why professionals would hire a life coach;

A Life Coach is Focused On Personal Growth

Hiring a coach is very different from hiring a therapist because they are focused on your personal growth and helping you move forward in your life versus supporting you through old traumatic wounds as a therapist does. In simpler terms, a life coach helps you be better than who you are and helps you focus on your future. This really differentiates life coaching from therapy and is essentially what makes it so popular.

Therapists primarily reflect on past habits that may have been a hindrance in their client’s lives and then try to aid their clients to build greater self-awareness of themselves and then try to see how those hindrances do not affect their decisions in the future. Whereas life coaching simply drives their clients into taking actions that will directly affect their lives without even considering past experiences.

A Life Coach Will Want You To Be Successful

Coaches do not only act as a counselor to their clients by supporting them through their daily challenges, but they also participate in their dreams and visions as a partner and motivator. They make you take responsibility for every decision you take concerning your dreams and hold you accountable for it. They will always motivate you and help you grow constantly so that you can be who you want to be in society.

A Life Coach Will Focus On Your Future, Not Your Past

According to Jake Johnson who was voted Best Life Coach by the Coaching Institute, he stated that “An important thing to notice about life coaches is that they don’t dwell on the past”.

What they really do is to help you realize that your past cannot be changed, whatever decision you made then cannot be undone, they simply want you to learn from your mistakes and help you make better choices that will affect your future positively.

They would rather not review every single aspect of our past, but they are more focused on your future potential, development.
