Born in Syracuse, New York, on July 3, 1962, Tom Cruise spent his childhood being poor. His mother was a special needs teacher and his father an electrician. Besides Tom, they had three daughters, Lee Anne, Marian, and Cass. His father was very abusive and often beat him. Tom remembers his relationship with his father as one of his first life lessons: “He was the kind of person where, if something goes wrong, they kick you.
